CREATING A CHARACTER

We wanted to create a character that would appeal to our target audience. To do this we had to search films that had the same concept as our film. In this case, it was "supernatural/horror thriller". Using YouGov profiles we looked up movies like Insidious and Mama and found that the demographics for both target audiences were between the ages 18-29. By using this information we've decided to target the film towards teenagers and young adults. 

From this we drew a mind map in order to create a suitable character for the film. 

After drawing a mind map we've decided that the character will be a young teenage girl who still goes to school. She will be pretty, smart and innocent. However, she will be a sad character as she does not have a family and lost her best friend recently.

COSTUME-MAIN/GHOST

Since we will be filming in different locations in Bangkok like at the market, on the bus, near the road. By creating a character that dresses and follows thai culture, hopefully the clip will seem more believable through the audience's eyes.

PLANNED SCHEDULE FOR FILMING DAY 

For either the 28th/29th

we will film the opening scene with the main actress starting from 10 am - 5 pm.  

9.00 am - Meet infront of paragon 

10.00 am - Arrive near Phra sumen fort

- Film narrow alley scene first
- Then market scene 
- Then Bus scene 
- Then Crossing the road scene

12.30 pm - Finish filming near this location - Lunch break. 

1.00 pm - Start traveling back to mine 

2.30 pm - Start filming at mine 

- Bathroom scene first 
- Then door scene
- Then bedroom scene 

5.00 pm - Finish filming.  

STORYBOARD

Today we have finalised the plot and the sequence of each shot.

Scene 1
In the bus
- Shot 1 = holds photograph
- Shot 2 = look out the window
- Shot 3 = shot (from behind - walk towards the door of the bus
- Shot 4 = exiting the bus

Scene 2
Market scene
- Shot 1 = behind - walking through market
- Shot 2 = close up - knife cutting pork
- Shot 3 = pay money
- Shot 4 = (if possible) make the person selling look at the girl as she walks away

Scene 3
Across the road
- shot 1 entering the scene from the right/left depends on previous shot - and cross the road

Scene 4
Narrow alley
- Shot 1 = taken from the front
- Shot 2 = taken from the back

Scene 5
Door
- Shot 1 = mid shot stand in front of door
- Shot 2 = close up - keys opening the door

Scene 6
Bedroom
- Shot 1 = put the plastic bag (with the food bough earlier) onto a desk
- Shot 2 = pan shot of pictures on the wall showing the 2 friends

Scene 7
Bathroom  ( problem is don't know if water works or not)  if it does then do this
- Shot 1 = entering bathroom
- Shot 2 = close up - turn the tap
- Shot 3 = mid shot-long shot from the back showing the actress leaning towards to sink to wash her face // while her ghost friend is next to her
- Shot 4 - close up of her face near mirror and look down
- Shot 5 - turn the tap of

If the water does not work then may have to use my own bathroom

In class we created a storyboard for the two minute opening scene. Also, we discussed about the camera angle for each shot as well as well as the movements that happen in each shot.

*forgot to include the crossing the road scene* 

shot - entering the scene from either the left or right depending on previous shot - main character crosses the road. Cam angle = facing towards the character.

TRIAL - COLOUR CORRECTION IN ADOBE PREMIERE PRO CC

Today after watching the youtube video below I started experimenting with Adobe Premiere Pro CC and messed around with the colours of each clip.

DATES AND DEADLINES

On the 11th of January - we will decide on the props & equipment needed to film, and create a proper story board. 

On the 12th of January - We will Decide on our title and credit names. 

On the 13th of January - Gather sound effects for each scene. 

During the weekend - I will decide my 3 favourite fonts and buy all the props needed.

On the 16th of January - Start creating the fonts and create a clip sequence ready in adobe premiere pro. 

By the end of the week - I will have completed the fonts and clip sequence along with the sound effects.

By the 22nd of January - we will submit our rough cut (will be a black screen - but will have fully edited font for each scene ready along with the sound effects) 

On either the 28th or 29th - we will film the opening scene with the main actress starting from 9 am - 5 pm.  (9 - 12 film near ks) (12 - 12.30 = break) (12.30 - 2 travel beack to mine) (2pm - 5pm film at mine) 

By the 2nd of February - we will have completed editing the video.

By the 10th of February - I will have finished my project evaluation.
